Licensure by Endorsement

Attaining a license by endorsement is possible for those who hold a social worker’s license in another state. LSWs and LCSWs are allowed to use their ASWB exam scores and supervised experience completed in a different jurisdiction to secure a social work license. As long as endorsement applicants have an active license issued by another state and meet Virginia’s educational and training requirements for social work, they can apply for all levels of licensure.

Candidates for endorsement just have to complete the online application for the appropriate license and provide the supplemental documentation including your ASWB scores and verification of your current social work licensure.
