Licensure by Endorsement or Five-Year Rule

Social workers with active licenses in other jurisdictions who have credentials equivalent to Vermont’s requirements for licensure can submit an application for endorsement. If your license doesn’t meet the requirements, but you have 1,200 hours of practice every year for the past five years, you can seek licensure under Vermont’s five-year rule. There is an application fee of $100 for both paths of licensure. You will still have to take the jurisprudence exam and submit a Verification of Licensure form.
