Licensure by Endorsement

Licensure is unnecessary for those from out-of-state seeking to work in a non-clinical setting. However, for those interested in providing clinical services to clients, you can attain licensure by endorsement. The license you’ve been issued by the state you’re in must meet requirements equivalent to Rhode Island’s LCSW or LICSW. Just check the box next to Endorsement on the application, and send it in with the required $70 fee. Other supporting documents include:

  • Current license verification
  • Photo ID
  • Official transcripts to verify education
  • ASWB exam scores

The Board will then issue the appropriate level of licensure.
