Except for the CSWA, all social work licenses must be renewed every two years. The CSWA has to be renewed annually. Renewals can be completed online. Continuing education (CE) varies based on the license.
RBSWs need 20 CE hours with six covering ethics. LMSWs need 30 CE credits, and six of them are in ethics training. LCSWs have to complete 40 CE hours and can carry 10 to the next year. Six hours must be spent on ethics courses.
