Are you licensed in another state? Fortunately, Arkansas offers licensure by reciprocity. That allows social workers in other states to receive a license from the Board in Arkansas without repeating the exam. Reciprocity applicants only have to complete the application form for the appropriate license or submit it online. They also need to include a completed Verification of Licensure in Other State form and request the ASWB transmit their exam scores to the Board.

These application fees are $100, with an additional $5.50 fee for online submissions. A criminal background check is required for all applicants, and reciprocity licenses are only granted if the social worker guidelines in their home state are equivalent to or stricter than the guidelines in Arkansas. Receiving a provisional license for six months is possible when applying for licensure by reciprocity. The license allows the social worker to practice while waiting for their criminal background check results.
