The Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker (LBSW) in New Mexico is designed for individuals who have earned a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from a CSWE-accredited program and want to begin practicing in entry-level roles. This license is typically used for case management, client advocacy, and community-based services under supervision rather than independent or clinical practice.
The Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in New Mexico is intended for individuals who have completed a Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program and want to work in advanced generalist or supervised clinical roles. LMSWs often provide assessments and interventions in healthcare and social service settings but must practice under supervision and cannot independently provide psychotherapy.
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Mexico is for individuals who have earned an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program, completed required supervised clinical experience, and passed the ASWB Clinical exam.
