Scholarship Mission

To support outstanding performance in graduate programs by students preparing for a career in state and local government finance.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants must be current full-time students in a graduate program that prepares students for careers in state and local government finance and are expecting to be enrolled in the spring semester of the current year in a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent; be citizens or permanent residents of the United States or Canada; and have not been winners of scholarship program administered by the GFOA of the US and Canada.

How Winners are Selected

Selection will be assessed on the basis of their plans to pursue a career in state or local government finance; past academic record and work experience; letters of recommendation from academic advisor; strength of coursework and demonstrated connection between coursework and career goals.
