To support strong doctoral candidates who are committed to attaining the research doctoral degree and to working in the higher education academic community in the field of communication sciences and disorders in the United States.
Applicants must be students who are accepted to, or currently enrolled in, a research doctoral program (PhD or equivalent) in communication sciences and disorders, and be NSSLHA or ASHA members. Students should be committed to a teacher-investigator career in communication sciences and disorders in the United States.
Recipients will be selected based on the following: students with either full-time status (9 hours or more per semester requirement or the university equivalent for the quarter system) or part-time statuses; and commitment of having teacher-investigator career in communication sciences and disorders in the U.S.A.
